+ KONSTANTINE +
••• CALL ME KOSTYA •••
For I have sworn thee fair, and thought thee bright,
who art as black as hell, as dark as night

This delicious game of words was what Kostya now lived for -- there was blood, there was violence, but the poison of words to sink deeper than skin... ah, this, yes, these vile insults thrown from one maw to the next was what he desired, what he needed to feel to remember that he was, yes, alive. That he wasn't dead -- that he still had a purpose here. Kostya was fading away, in his mind; his hungers had grown to impossible demands --- how many nights did he go searching for food to quiet the riotous noise within himself?
But that did not matter -- what mattered was this moment, this precious moment of heat and anger as she snarled at him, as her sly words slipped underneath his skin and cut at him. No anger flooded out -- gasp, horror, shock! Instead, he chuckles, his pale eyes seeming to dull, to grow flat with remembered rage -- a time when he had been on a chain, when she, yes, that delightful she had been the one who held him back, who made the decisions. He had only needed an excuse and he had gone off on his rampages; then, life had been simple, pleasurable. Then, he had not minded submitting when her mind was on the same wave length as his own. Kostya's chuckle become a throaty purr. "If only she were here, my pet. If only."
Konstantine stretches out, the tension slipping away from him, the rumbling rage, the obnoxious violence shuddering under his skin gone, gone. Could he ever explain what freedom it was to be under that willful stare? To know that he could chew out that throat at the slightest whim, but it was her own choices which kept him at bay? "She entertained me, at the least," but that is not what he wanted to say, not what was churning in his gut: she was not his equal, but he had been willing to pretend otherwise for her. He had loved the game, with her. This pretense he played with Annebelle and Eternal was nothing in comparison to that.
